Treasure Hunt – Long Beach Flea Market v2.0

October 3, 2011

We first ventured to the Long Beach Flea Market back in January and swore we’d be back every other month or so.  Well, here we are nine months later and we just made it to our second treasure hunt.  I’m not sure what is more exciting at the flea… the goods or people watching the folks buying and selling them!  Whatever it is, it’s certainly worth rolling out of bed early on a Sunday morning to scavenger around the acres of miscellaneous goodies.

We have plans to decorate one of the walls of our apartment with travel photos, postcards, and maps from our trips so we picked up some vintage National Park postcards from few different vendors and will be framing them along with our own travel trinkets.  I also dug through a basket of old wooden letterpress type hoping to spell out fuzzynk, but unfortunately while I could track down two Z’s I couldn’t find a single Y.  Luckily with a little more digging I was able to spell out Daniel’s last name and it’s now decorating the top of our bookshelf.  I’d say it was a pretty successful and fun Sunday morning. Hopefully we’ll make it back sooner than 9 months from now and perhaps drag ourselves to the big daddy of them all out at the Pasadena Rose Bowl sometime soon.
